six of threesixtyfive
To take full advantage of Flickr, you should use a JavaScript-enabled browser and
install the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player .
Getting deeper into this threesixtyfive stuff, it seems obvious one would need a camera remote.
Canon's policy on remotes seems to be very similar to that of battery grips: "let's make them as expensive as we can, and at the same time, what if we make them all plastic-y, huh?"
RC-1 is ugly and bulky, has a few features. RC-5 has a nice design and is pretty featureless. Both ridiculously expensive... it's a piece of plastic, a battery and a trasmitter!
Any ideas? What do you use as a remote?
Coincidentally, this was the hardest threesixtyfive entry to take yet, and at the end of the day, it's grainy and out of focus. But those are some remotes! Too bad they don't trigger the camera.

Grainy and out of focus is sometimes good
though eh? - I like this - and it has a quite
cool wide angle feel and nice depth to it.
The road to nowhere picture was taken in the
Florida Keys - next to the current highway
(1), quite far down towards Key West, is a
section of the old road that was destroyed in
a hurricane many moons ago.

I think its great. It has this depth to it
thats ridiculously hard to get over before
you start thinking about the picture. Nice
detail.

I wish I had a remote. They would REALLY come
in handy. But no, all I use is a timer.
Which, with some of my shots, is very
tiresome..
*sigh*

If you have a laptop, you can use that as the
remote. Just hook up your laptop to your
camera, and use some software that's up to
the job.
I've written some software for Linux (should
work on Windows & Mac too, but haven't
tested that) that can take a configurable
number of shots at a configurable delay. It
also displays the last shot you took. Quite
useful! Let me know if you want a copy.

Vimesy , yeah, after some time I came to like this
too, but still, should've used a lower iso.
revolutionxbaby , thank you :)
Chloe , yeah, exactly! I usually turn on mirror
lockup, so I only have to wait 2 seconds
instead of 10, though.
Sybren , sure, I'll send you a flickr mail
BF , no, i was being completely serious and I
still am! ;)

ha! I have no remote for my camera, the G9
doesn't even have the capability of wireless
remote... I've just gotten to be very close
friends with my self-timer options.
Anyways... very cool shot, even with the
grain and abstract focus point.

Ha! But 2 seconds isn't nearly enough when
taking shots like this and this and this !
10 seconds isn't even enough for some..

Chloe , those are some nice shot, especially the
second one! At this time, most of my
threesixtyfives are taken at arms length +- 1
meter, so I can handle not having a remote...
when I start taking shot like yours, I'll
definitely have to consider one!

So true about the remotes. Taking 10 seconds
to "get in to character" or
whatever one wants to do is either too much
or too little!
Nice photo!

love the perspective! i use an aftermarket
remote for my 40D. Canon's remote for that
body is like $300 or something...ridiculous.
